The next person to refer to his thread as fake in any way will be given a warning. We simply don't do that here. It doesn't matter if someone is a current member or is gone.

Once again, he was not deleted because of the content of his threads it was an accident.

If you don’t believe a “true story” is true just move on to the next thread or keep your trap shut. Yes, I appreciate a true “true story” as much as the next guy, but so much of this lifestyle is unbelievable to the common man that it is ridiculous for any of us to make grand pronouncements about the writings of another. Such pronouncements interfere with the flow of thoughts around here and may make newbies hesitant to post. If you absolutely have proof that a thread is fake then flag that post and provide admin your proof so they can check it out.

Are you not reading the thread? I screwed up and deleted them. I didn't lock them, I deleted them. I was suppose to delete another account. It's kind of like burning a piece of paper. I can't unburn it the way I could unlock it. The thread is still here but the only recourse is for them to sign in again. Most mistakes I can unfuck but not that one.

I actually found them on the other site and PM'd and told them what happened. Jan and I tried that site out before finding this one. We don't go there anymore because it is FULL of creeps and less than desireable people. The PM's were awful so we are so happy we found OHW. Maybe he will feel the same. I'm not going back there to look for his response. They come back or they don't but I think he'lll get tired of that place really quick.

I lied. My ocd kicked in and I just went back and he responded and said he missed OHW. I copied and pasted armyguy's and 2ium's posts about what happened so that's all anyone can do. I know no place is perfect and we've had some less than stellar PM's here that actually had me asking for account deletion at one time before we changed our minds. I wish people would just be nice instead of creeps or Sherlock Holmes. People put themselves out there for their own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others. Being stalked, called out on a thread or in a PM is not cool. Just don't. Just ignore the fucking thread. Go to another site and be a creep or stalker. Believe me, there are plenty out there for that.

While I adhere to the policy and simply ignore any threads I personally judge to be imagination, I find myself somewhat irritated nevertheless.

Threads purported to be truthful journeys by folks interested in or actively partaking in the lifestyle typically generate significant interest by fellow travelers. Often there are well-meaning individuals who invest significant time and emotional intelligence in genuine responses with the intent to assist, comfort, instruct and problem solve personal experiences.

To see that effort by well meaning strangers expended, only to see the inevitable decline of the the thread into obvious fiction seems….at least as rude as calling someone out.

OHW has the good fortune of being a meeting place for serious discussion of powerful, complex and often confusing social / lifestyle choices. In my opinion, posting fiction and inviting or fostering requests for well meaning advice from unsuspecting acquaintances is bad form. Worse form than someone who calls out obvious story inconsistencies in my book.

Personally, when I regard a thread as pure imagination I simply ignore it, and that will continue. However, posting fictionalized fantasy as real life experience should be recognized as bad form.

I completely agree. No reason fiction shouldn't be labeled as that as a courtesy to readers. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out what might work for me, following advice etc., and fiction doesn't help that.

I moved this thread back as I want to answer some of the bullshit that was brought up in this thread. First, the other website is almost not monitored and if you want to complain about fake stuff surely don't compare us to them. Secondly the link has a place in the links section. We don't prohibit links but we have a place for them that we adhere to. You all think you know the truth and can call it out and you can't. Don't call it out just don't read it if you don't think it's real. It's like not believing a fire is really burning so throw gas on it. That keeps it burning. The truth is that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. The truth is that fantacy is part of the lifestyle and the line is blurry not finite. Some people think the pictures of Neil Armstrong on the Moon are fake and some don't. We aren't going to let you be assholes about it one way or the other. You are allowed to disagree as long as it is respectful and as long as you know when to drop it and move on. We moderate to try to keep the site as real as possible, as friendly as possible and allow open discussion. Some of you are suggesting censorship and that is a really slippery slope. I won't go into any of what has been wrong as late but in the 70s a scientist thought he found and unusual crystal shape in a certain substance. He was publicly humiliated, fired and 20 years later recieved a Nobel prize for his discovery, Watch the news. You believe that and don't want to believe a poster on this site. In the 50s my weekly reader said we were headed for an ice age. Scared hell out of me. We can't raise wheat in the ice. I brought this back to get some things clear about how and why we do what we do. I stumbled across a story yesterday of a porn star who had sex with over 900 guys in 12 hours. Would you believe that? Probably not but it's in the Book of World Records. Quit being so sure of yourselves and allow some latitude for posters. We have the power of veto and try not to use it but will. One thing that keeps this site pretty even and friendly is that we can boot trouble makers. If we are in a bad mood it may not take much.
