My wife emailed to me published research from the National Library of Medicine dated March 11, 2024. The research is entitled: "Effects of Pubic Hair Grooming on Women's Sexual Health: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis"

I cannot post links here. There should be sufficient information for a search engine to pull up the research.

When it comes to women's health, we should be guided by medical facts, not opinion. The research cited above indicated specific complications women suffer from removing their pubic hair.

If women are aware of proven medical risks caused by removing their pubic hair (informed consent) and remove it for any reason, that would be strictly their business.

The article does dispel urban legends internet myths about women's pubic hair.

How women groom or whether they groom should be strictly their decisions. They must not be pressured to groom. Women are the ones who disproportionately suffer illnesses and injuries from shaving their pubic hair.

My wife has always had a bush in various forms. Not one of her former boyfriends/FWB's/sex partners complained. Conversely, she has received many compliments on her bush. That was merely a statement of fact. It should not be interpreted as anything other than a statement of fact.

Long before I met my wife, her OBGYN told her to never remove pubic hair that covered her vaginal opening. He told her that that hair prevented pathogens from entering her vagina, which is an established medical fact.

Her dermatologist told her never remove her pubic hair because it protected her vaginal area skin. Her dermatologist was a woman. She told me wife to shave her bikini line. Her dermatologist shaved her bikini line. She prescribed the best method of shaving her bikini line to prevent rash, cuts (always a potential for infection) and bumps.

Realism has to influence women's pubic hair decisions. No one wants to see pubic hair escaping from bikinis. Yet no one want's a woman to suffer a medical condition caused by her attemp to conform with grooming norms imposed on her.

This post was not intended to incite acrimony. I'm completely good with opinions of other posters. My caution is to assure they know the distinction between opinions and medical facts.

You've been on this quite a bit, so I assume you know first hand someone who has been pressuring women?
How wide spread of a problem do you see this?

OK, I occasionally look at nekkid ladies on the internet, and I prefer photos of women with a full bush, although I also look at woman who have just their slit (camel toe) showing. I've seen the "shaved or not shaved" discussions (arguments) on this forum over the years, and it seems on this matter that Tank Turner and I are in a minority.

All of this medical advice smacks of the same we got during covid about shutting down the country. Now, a few years later, the country is still reeling economically.
I'll just continue following the good medical advice I get from my doctors, no scare tactics, just common-sense advice. There are far more important things to worry about than a rash on my balls from shaving, even though I've never had a rash from shaving.

It's a quickly dying horse, but historically this was done by prostitutes to prevent the transmission of public lice (crabs.) In the 50s and 60s men's magazines shaved the models to prevent the exposure of pubic hair. The only reason to do it now is to please one's self or partner.

Personally, I much prefer a woman having a full bush. In fact, I’ll go a step further. I love it when a woman keeps her armpits unshaved, though many women don’t want to do this. My wife shaves her armpits only in the summer when she likes wearing a bikini, but goes “au naturale” the rest of the year. Both her boyfriend and I love this.

What I used to notice I no longer care about. If my wife stopped shaving everything (she wouldn't) without a medical reason, I'd want to know her reason. I wouldn't kick her out of bed.

The reality is I no longer sweat the small shit. I'm less likely to even care now that my wife quit her job and I'm our only source of income. I'm too busy to sweat insignificant shit.

If women want to go an naturel or shave everything including their heads, I wouldn't care. How women choose to groom is none of my business. I have too much of my own business to worry about.

During the first few months that I dated my wife, she was neurotic about stubble on her legs. All I wanted was to get between her legs. I didn't give a shit about stubble on her legs. Now I don't notice whether she's shaved. I'd have a coronary if she were to go au naturel. That's not her personality.

Well, it’s not a huge deal to me. If my wife chose to shave, I wouldn’t be happy about it, but it wouldn’t make me want her any less. The fact that I like my lady to be unshaven is just a preference, nothing more.
